The division 1 title is now the property of ABCDE FC after they moved 9 points clear after winning the top of the table clash with Dooling Diamonds 7-5. A second defeat of the night for Dooling now leaves them struggling to hold onto second place as Cheadle close the gap to three points with a game in hand. Dooling's second defeat was a 10-5 reverse against Gamma Express, who then went down 8-6 to Cheadle. Hope that all makes sense. The one thing that is for sure though is that ABCDE FC are the champions and congrats to them.
The division 2 season has been disrupted by a couple of vacancies that have been around for a while, so the season could do with ending so the remaining 4 teams can get themselves into a full division for the new season. In the only game of the night leaders Dynamo lost 8-3 to Not A Chance, but still lead by a point and still have a 5 point lead over their third placed opponents.
Bare Arsealona have wrapped up the division 3 title after being made to work hard for a 5-3 win over Millwall Away. They're lead is 7 points from Doobie FC with two games to go after they lost 13-3 to a debuting Cilla Blackburn (who maybe should have took that division 2 gap like we said.........).
The top two in division 4 both slipped up, to allow the chasing pack a sniff of a chance of nicking one of the promotion places. Leaders Ping It were beaten 10-8 by The Wasters, but retained their 3 point lead after Gardners were beaten for the second week in a row, 9-5 by Stockport Boys who are third, 6 points off the top and 3 off second. The Ringers are 6 points off second place after an 11-3 win over Ashton Athletic, who themselves picked up three points from a 9-2 win over The Wasters in a complete mish-mash of a night in this division.
VPS Eindhoven are on the way up after they moved 11 points clear in division 5 after beating second placed Team Reem 10-4. A 9-7 win for Stockport Deaf Club over Man Chest Hair Utd means that they close to within a point of Reem in the promotion battle. You Tell Me are a further 3 points back after seeing off Range FC 13-5.
A couple of spaces have been filled in division 6, meaning a whole two games were played this wee. Hunter Douglas increased their lead to 12 points after beating Team Sky 7-5, but Sky stay second. In a battle of the divisions newbies Multiple Scoregasm beat Kirk Crager 13-5, but both of those teams are effectively playing out the season to get some games in ahead of a full season next time round.
Spaces are available in divisions 2, 3 and 6, with two games to go, for anyone wanting to get their team registered for the new season which starts on 22nd February. Give us a call on 0161 442 9988 or email stockport@powerleague.co.uk for details.
