Not quite the same impact on league turnout for a glamour League Cup tie at Aldershot as there was for Sundays Manchester Derby gave us a pretty decent Tuesday night of action.
Two games played in division 1, both involving Sean Tobin (isn't it about time you actually gave us a team name?!), resulting in one win and one defeat. The win was something of a surprise, as they inflicted just a second defeat of the season on FC Athletico to throw the title race wide open again, the match finishing 7-6 in Seans favour. Team Tobin couldn't keep up the intensity in their second game though, going down 8-5 to Greg Ainsworth, who have noe recovered from their early season slump to sit 5 points off the top with a game in hand.
A pair of games took place in division 2 also, with four different teams involved in these games. Return Of Th'Lads saw off a returning (after a looooong time away) A Bit Of Dutch (anyone else been playing here long enough to remember when these guys last played here?!) in a quite comfortable 16-3 win. Kin Magik stay bottom after a 9-3 defeat to Deportivo Pongolle.
Stocs FC remain unbeaten in division 3 and reclaim top spot in the division after beating previous leaders Dry Lunch 6-4. Dyslexia Untied (which we have mis-spelled 'United' therefore ruining the joke!) picked up a 9-5 win over Milanchester to join them on 9 points, 6 points off the promotion places. Betty Swallocks couldn't resist the temptation of a trip to Aldershot (who could?!), so their game with FC Stockporto will take place some other time.
FC Poor Toe remain top of division 4, and condemmed BK Moorside Rovers to another defeat with a 10-1 beating. Ye Olde Cock Inn stay second after a 9-5 victory over The Anchor Man, who also lost a second game to Craig David FC 7-3 to make it a miserable night for them.
One space in division 1 (with a couple of question marks over teams in other divisions) is all we have, so get in touch to register your interest in signing a team up for the new season which starts in a couple of weeks. 01614429988 or email stockport@powerleague.co.uk for more info.
