So, the Europa league is here again, and apparently no one cares about it, or so we'd believe from what people were saying when United and City first dropped into it. We think some of those people were telling porkies.........

Two games took place in division 1, meaning two didn't. The Disciples went top via a forfeit win over the divisions vacancy, with Fickle Fans United retaining second place on goal difference after a 12-7 win over Nameless Wonders. Portugal U21's are into third after beating Weekend Wanderers in a rearranged game 9-8.

Into division 2 and three very tight games took place. Brendan McUnited somehow held onto their unbeaten start to the season despite being two goals behind with two minutes to go. A last gasp equilizer from THE Brendan gave them a 6-6 draw with Big Impact in a game in which both keepers had stormers (apparently). That point actually helped them increase their lead to 4 points as second placed Offey Legends lost 5-4 to Bayern Maiden, who move up to third place, level on points with this weeks opponents. Also now level on points with those two is Edgeley Boys and Festival Bodge Scranners after Edgeleys 5-3 win in the match up of the two of them this week meant they overtook the Scranners on goal difference.

Two incredibly tight games in 3 as well, with only one goal the difference in one game and the other ending in a draw. Due to postponements, Pink Panther's game with PB FC was brought forward from next week, and was a thoroughly competitive affair, eventually finishing in an 8-8 draw. Team Rocket picked up a first win of the season at the fourth attempt, edging out Burnage FC 10-9 to move themselves to within touching distance  of three teams two points ahead of them.

Moobs FC made it five wins from five to open up a 6 point lead at the top of division 4 after a comfortable 14-7 win over bottom side Eats Everything. Norfolk Enchants stay second despite a heavy 15-6 defeat to new side Geoff (really hope they just keep that name!), who instantly move into third with that win. Return Of Inter Goats have moved up to fourth after picking up a second win of the season as they beat Torpedo Grove 12-8, with Ajax Trees Down off the foot of the table after their first win, 12-4 against Aimless Wanderers.

There are new leaders in division 5, with Friendly Fire's game with Assou Army having been affected by the exciting european football, Triple R Manuva hit the top after an entertaining 14-12 win over Smoon AFC. Tom Bostock are off the bottom of the table after their first win of the season, 11-7 over The Poynton Fives, who miss out on the chance to go second.

We currently have two spaces in the Thursday league, in the top two divisions. Get in touch to register your team.
