At the end of what has basically been a two horse race for the Sunday league division 1 title, Da Boys and FC Manchester played off to decide who would walk away with the crown. At the end of a keenly fought contest, Da Boys ran out 4-2 winners to win the league on goal difference. No doubt FC Manchester will be back and desperate to prove a point next season (new league starts this Sunday - hint hint........). Waitrose finish third, despite a last day defeat to Five United, who have had a very up and down season.
Bang Tidy go into division 1 as second division champions, but division 2 was a barren, empty space last night as no games took place!
23rd Striker completed a perfect season with a resounding 17-7 win over Class A Squad. They will be joined in division 2 by SK1 Famalam, who picked up a forfeit win last night having already secured their promotion place last week.
Mad Dogs have been very impressive this season in division 4, and made it a perfect 10 with an 8-2 winover Dynamos last night. Bredbury Celtic join them in the higher division after they had a comfortable 17-3 win over Inter Losin.
The Veterans continue their upward rise as they are promoted again, finishing top of division 5 after an 8-06 win over Plan A. Plan A also lost 14-4 to bottom of the table Withington FC in the only other game played in this division.
In division 6, Unathletic Madrid stole the title from under the nose of Inter Yamam, after they had a 21-7 win over Substandard Liege, while inter surprisingly lost 17-5 to Inter Girls FC. In the battle of the newbies, Athletico Pathetico beat Range FC in a game where defences didn't seem to exist, with the game finishing 22-17.
A title decided in division 7 also went the way of the team that went into the game second in the table, with Milanchester Reborn taking the title from The Bee Gees by a point after beating them 12-6. Four In Hand ended a (compartively) decent season with a 12-3 win over Buzzin FC, who drop into the bottom division. Pick It, Lick It, Roll It, Flick It FC will get to start again from the bottom after they finished bottom after an 18-7 defeat to a fast improving Toe Bung Town, who will fancy their chances of going up next time round.
Offerton FC won division 8 despite a last day loss to Norfolk And Chance, 12-5. Deportivo Lack Of Talent stumbled over the line into second place despite two heavy defeats in the final two games, losing 18-6 last night to Anchor Men. Norfolk beat Hetty FC in a second game 14-8 to end the season on a high note, and finish third. Hetty FC did pick up a win, beating a returning Milanchester 7-4, but they still finish bottom.
