STOCKPORT: MONDAY LEAGUE REVIEW

So, a Monday league full of bank holidays, a run of United games followed by the wash out that was Derby night ended last night with a final massive disruption of the City title winning parade......... Here's to next season (starts next week!).

Only one game played in division 1, but it was effectively a title decider as Navy Seals faced Rothwell And Thomas. Only a win for Rothwell would have been enough for their superior goal difference to take the title, but a 12-4 win for Navy Seals sees them crowned champions for this season. A rearranged game to be played on Tuesday could see either FC Bram Side or Kersal Massive steal second spot.

A pair of games took place in division 2, with JLC rejoining the top flight after a 12-4 win over Share Bears saw them win the league by six points. Teds Tank Tops join them in division 1 after Fakerbatche failed to show and handed them a 10-0 forfeit win, with The Wolfpack finishing third after a hard fought final day 5-4 win over Trafford.

Ahhh, we remember the time when Tameside Villa weren't happy with being promoted to division 4 when they didn't think they were good enough, well they're heading into division 2 next season after running away with division 3 by 10 points after a 27-3 hammering of Ya Man. Ya Man will consider this a night to forget as a second game brought them no real relief as they lost 11-2 to FC Grovers and drop into the fourth tier for next season.

Sugar Coated Lemons suffered a bit of stage fright on final night, but eventually scraped through to the title with a 13-12 win over Cereal Killers, a result that sends Cereal into the Monday night basement. Untitled claim second spot and consecutive promotions after many seasons in the bottom divsion thanks to an 8-4 victory over Kentucky FC.

Athletico Porno won division 5 despite not playing any of a possible two games they could have played that night (not their fault!). Stretford Enders continue their yo-yo journey with another promotion back into division 4 after a 13-4 win over Sam Cutts, with John Spinks Striker finishing third after a 20-4 thumping of the (slightly less than mighty this week) Bredbury Gypos.

So that's another Monday season done, spaces are available for new teams looking to sign up for the next season, starting next week. Give us a call on 01614429988 for further details.
